mailbox surprises

First up I really must apologise for the intermittent updates. I have been so swarmed with work!

Nonetheless, I was really happy to come across Jennifer Ladd's ultra-adorable shop of bags and wallets, and baby accessories. I love all the charming fabrics she uses for her items, and how well the prints go with the silhouettes of her bags and the functional shape of her baby booties.

my kingdom for a bag

Fashion and photography do go hand in hand, as Oh So Retro does with great effect. And oh for these bags that are my current faves, the Isobelle Shaped Purse in Celery Green Damask (above-most) and the Yellow Confetti Pleated Wristlet and Card Case Set (just above).

a nerdy kind of love

If you are as attached to your laptop as I am to mine, then you will certainly love these Macbook Envelopes from Fernfiddlehead. Carry around your precious laptop in pride, knowing that they are safely tucked away in their pretty padded cases.

utter gorgeousness

Has it been a week since I last blogged? I've been so swarmed with work (and still am) but upon seeing the email from Emma Gordon about her latest autumn/winter collection I just had to throw work aside and tell you about it. I love her choice of colours and fabrics, and the little touches added to make her bags stand out. I've seen some of her bags in real life and they are as pretty as they look! Oh, and she's having a 20% winter sale and free worldwide shipping.

feeling pouchy

(Note: I realised that I missed posting yesterday. Apologies! I have been swarmed with work but I've got something great to share today.)

I adore pouches because you can never have too many! They are useful and it's fun to whip them out from your bag just to look at them.  Fräulein Herz has a wide (and I do mean wide) selection of make-up bags and zippered pouches and pencil cases made from many delicious looking fabrics.

constant craving

It's been ages since I last bought a bag (though I'm often told I have too many already) so naturally I've been scouring around for ideas. And tadaa! I've found several artists that hand make stylish bags, each with their own very distinct take on the subject.

vinyl vinyl and lots of vinyl

These retro-styled vinyl pouches and card cases from Milis' Creations are so delightfully bright and eye-catching, I don't think you will ever have the problem of not being able to locate them from the depths of your bag! Seems like an added bonus to its already convenient size and funky design.

tempting threads

I admire people who have a way with fabric, like Kendall of Tootie Estelle. All her items are handmade from original patterns, and vary extensively from homewares such as pillows and coasters, to lavender sachets and eye pillows, to bags and pouches. And with such charming fabric too!

the right accent

Having a social event coming up has made me ponder about bag choices, and the pretty clutches from Muchacha K come to mind as being perfect for a night out (like the one on the right). The clutches are custom made designs so you may take your pick of fabric from available design. On the left are fabric jewelry rolls intended for safekeeping precious accessories, but I dare say they would make pretty purses too!

flora and fauna

Alena Hennessy is an artist whose is hugely influenced by nature and this is beautifully reflected in her array of products that range from prints and paintings, to feminine apparel and totes, even to home furnishings like pillow cases.

The bright white bird sculpture (top left) is available in various colours and may be suspended from the ceiling - which I think will look great especially if you have an empty spot in your house that has a particularly high ceiling. Top right - Milla sea + sky tote bag, and Growth (wall art) (bottom right). Scarves generally look about the same to me, but certainly not this one! - bottom left, the organic Flora Scarf.

fun, accessories, and charity too!

Stitchpixie is a one-woman enterprise that offers vinyl bags of all sizes and types from coin pouches to wristlets to messenger bags that are heavily retro, and a collection of fun and colourful jewellery. And who says dressing up is always self-centred? Here, fashion mingles with charity as 10% of every purchase goes towards sponsoring a child in Zambia. Now that's a good reason to shop!

a breezy kind of chic

Kaliber is fashion designer based in Berlin, Germany, and all her pieces exude a vibe that is relaxed yet chic. I especially like the interesting shape of the circular shoulder bag, of which you can find in various fabrics and colours.

pastels and petals

For the bag lover in all of us, My Studio is definitely worth checking out. Stocked with handmade totes, clutches, pouches and more, the items are made from pretty pastel fabrics, with predominant themes of florals, bird motifs, and japanese inspiration.

making my way around the world

I'll be headed on a 2 week vacation to Cambodia/Thailand/Vietnam from the coming sunday, but Absolutely Delish will continue to have regular updates as per normal (the inner geek in me rejoices at the ability to schedule future posts on blogger). And being in the mood for travel, here are some interesting passport covers to make you more than just another tourist in the crowd.
